Our Mission

  • To promote, enable and support innovative research and education at BGU.
  • Establishes and operates the advanced research infrastructure
  • Provide R&D solutions and analytical services to the industry
  • Promotes industry-academia interactions
  • To support the educational pursuits of BGU students by training them to become independent users on each of the equipment units and by offering “tailor-made” courses to expose students to the theoretical and applicative dimensions of our analytical techniques.

Our Facility

The research support labs are part of the Ilse Katz Institute for Nano-Science and Technology (IKI) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) founded in 2006 ( https://in.bgu.ac.il/en/iki/Pages/default.aspx )

The IKI brings under one roof a community of scientists working on aspects of the fields that are related to the understanding and manipulation of matter at reduced dimensionality. We provide “one stop shop” for state-of-the-art technology and expertise in nano-scale fabrication and characterization.

Our characterization facility includes electron microscopy, X-ray and light scattering, vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman), surface analysis (XPS and AES), advanced microscopy (optical and SPM), bio-imaging and flow cytometry, thermal analyses, mass spectrometry and more. We also provide solutions for life sciences and bio-medical research.
